StallDesk in general
What is StallDesk?
Stable management software that brings together feeds and rations, health and care, farriery, scheduling for horses and staff, training records, livery and the owner area, breeding and the stable map.
Which yards is it for?
Livery yards, studs, competition and dressage yards, and yards that combine these activities. It has been tested with a hundred horses and four stable blocks.
Who designed StallDesk?
StallDesk was born at Haras du Steinberg, a stud and livery yard in the Sundgau in southern Alsace, for its own needs, before being offered to other yards.
Which languages does it work in?
English, French and German. Each device chooses its own language; documents sent to owners go out in theirs.
Day to day
Do I need to install an app?
No. StallDesk opens in the browser on a computer, tablet or phone. It can be added to the home screen and then opens like an app, with no app store involved.
What about when there’s no signal in the yard?
Today’s data stays available on the device, and entries made offline are queued. They are sent automatically when the connection returns.
My team doesn’t like screens. Will it work for them?
It was designed with them in mind: everyone sees first what they still have to do, signs things off with one tap, hears instructions read aloud and reports a problem with pictograms.
Can StallDesk be shown on a tablet in the aisle?
Yes. Two wall screens, the day’s duties and the fields and paddocks, open without anyone logging in and show no personal data.
Do owners have access to the software?
With the Livery module, every owner has a private area, opened with a link and a code: their horses, documents, requests and bookings. They see nothing else.
Data and security
Where is my data hosted?
In France, by OVHcloud. Each yard has its own database. A backup is made every night, encrypted, then copied off the server, in Paris.
Can I get my data back?
Yes, at any time: the settings let you download a full backup of your yard.
Do you use artificial intelligence?
For a few optional features: reading a photographed passport or prescription, analysing riders’ free-text notes and writing the weekly analysis. They go through a provider that may process data outside the European Union, and can be switched off for your yard.
What about GDPR?
You remain the controller for your yard’s data, and StallDesk acts as processor. A data processing agreement is signed before you start. Retention periods are applied by the software itself.
Plans and getting started
How much does StallDesk cost?
The price depends on the size of your yard and the modules switched on. We work it out with you after a free, no-obligation demo.
Is there a maximum number of horses?
The number of horses and people is part of your subscription. If you reach the limit, only the creation of new records is blocked: you always keep access to your data.
How does getting started work?
We open your yard, then set it up with you: stable blocks and stables, team, horses. A horse’s record can be pre-filled from a photo of its passport.
Can we add a module later?
Yes. Modules are switched on with no reinstalling, and your data stays where it is.
